Featuring Dayna Manning

Finally, this year, there's more to life than lounging at home!
After a few years of ultra-casual dressing, people are starting to dress up for going out again. We know because we're hearing Resonators discussing fab party plans as they try on gorgeous clothes.
People are giddy about glamming up, but the truth is, they aren't dressing like it's 2018. Times have changed, and people now expect to be comfortable 24-7, even for fancy occasions.
Fancy fashion can feel good
Resonators are looking for pieces that are eye-catching when you walk in a room, but still feel good once you're sitting down. Life's too short for tight, short, itchy, constricting garments that are hard to get on and off. If you can look glamourous without being uncomfortable, why wouldn't you?
We also find people are shopping for party-worthy warm layers. Making sure there's a pretty cardigan, a printed shawl or a knitted vest in your wardrobe can make it a little easier to actually leave the house at night during the coldest months of the year.
Glowing from within
To celebrate the festive season and inspire seasonal outfits, we asked our favourite Resonator Dayna Manning to work the comfy night out trend and send us some pics. We always love the way she puts outfits together. She's great at finding different ways to wear the same piece.
We were thrilled when Dayna chose one of the outfits we sent, a standout sequinned set by Part Two, for a musical appearance on the national morning show, "CTV Your Morning.” Did you catch it? She sang her soulful holiday song "O Snow."
Later, Dayna styled several inspiring outfits by combining clothing from Part Two's holiday collection with pieces by her favourite jewellery designer, Hailey Gerrits.
She worked with photographer Johanna Rosolen at a sweet decor shop called Girliture in Kentville, Nova Scotia, where she's living these days, to create this celebratory and seasonal photo spread for Resonance.
We hope the looks she created will spark some creative and comfortable holiday outfit ideas for you.
The Glacial Ombre Bracelet and Pearl Stud Earrings make a great combo.
Sequins
Sequins can light up any simply constructed garment and turn it into a party piece. This sparkling set by Part Two feels like pyjamas but looks like a crystal chandelier walking through the room. We love how Dayna styled it with a long cardigan for our photo shoot. Even for a dressy affair, a cozy layer is an essential part of any winter evening look.
Part Two's sequinned Tamana Top and Tatiana Trousers light up the room.
Velvet
Part Two's holiday collection included a few pieces made of lustrous velvet. The fabric adds a special holiday feeling to an essentially simple dress. It has a loose shape that's forgiving for many figures and flows beautifully on the dance floor.
Part Two's Viggase Dress adds glamour to any situation.
White shirt
We love how Dayna added a blousy white shirt under the sequinned Part Two top. By pairing sequins with a shirt and cords, she transformed the top into a daytime outfit we wouldn't have thought to try.
We were delighted when she put a necklace over the buttoned-up collar. The white shirt provided a perfect backdrop for showing the lavender colour of the the iolite crystal in this Hailey Gerrits necklace.
Statement necklace
By styling a cozy Part Two pointelle knitted vest as a sleeveless top, Dayna transformed a piece we'd been seeing as a daytime layer into a evening-worthy outfit. She turned it up a notch more by adding a special necklace, some stud earrings, and a touch of lip colour.
